What is the eligibility Criteria for DigiGold?

Any resident Indian with a valid PAN Card/Form 60 and a Bank Account in their name can enroll in DigiGold

Do you charge for storage of my gold?

DigiGold offers free storage for up to one year, after which we reserve the right to charge a yearly nominal fee for the storage of your gold, which shall be notified from time to time.

Is it mandatory to upload my PAN card?

It is not mandatory to upload your PAN card; however, you may be prompted to do so if you wish to purchase gold that is worth more than Rs. 2 Lakh.

Why is KYC needed?

The safety and security of your gold are always our highest priority, and we are continuously working to improve these aspects. We have upgraded the DigiGold experience to prevent the misuse of your account or unauthorized access to your gold. This will ensure a much safer experience for you, while also allowing you to buy, sell or gift more gold than before.

What is the Purity of Gold offered under DigiGold?

DigiGold offers 24 Karat Gold of 999 purity (999 pure).

What are the various tenures available under DigiGold?

Customers are not obligated to make any fixed or periodic payments unless enrolled in a Gold Savings Plan or any SIP.

What is the minimum & maximum amount needed to buy gold on DigiGold?

The minimum amount of purchase is Rs.1/-. There is no limit on the maximum amount as long as KYC requirements are complied with. In the case of a Gold Savings Plan or any SIP, for e.g. A customer has to invest at least Rs.10/-on a daily basis Or as per SIP rolled out time to time.

How can I get my holding statement?

An online statement will be available at all times which you can view online by clicking on the Transaction History link. Further, you can check your gold balance after every transaction of purchase or sale or any SIP enrolled by the client in the DigiGold Wallet.

Can I have a joint account for this plan?

No, you cannot have a joint account for DigiGold.

At what price is gold sold/ bought from customers?

It will be the best competitive price in the market.

Is the gold associated with my accumulations kept in safe custody?

Yes, the gold associated with the accumulations credited in your account is kept in safe custody with a Vaulting Agent, and the Gold balance in your DigiGold Wallet is allocated Gold, for which an independent inquiry can be generated with the Vaulting Agent for having the confirmation of the storage of such accumulated Gold in your wallet.

Who will ensure the physical vault?

DigiGold has partnered with the global market leader in secure logistics and vault services- Brink’s, to store your gold. As part of their duty, the secure storage provider takes out a comprehensive insurance policy, which includes the cover on your gold. Over and above that, DigiGold has insurance cover for the period where gold is in transit when the gold leaves the vault. We review our risk & insurance policies regularly, to ensure that we are covered for any risks.

Is there any Grievance redressal mechanism?

DigiGold ensures that your interest is always prioritized; Physical Gold has been kept in the custody by Digigold for and on behalf of the customer in the custody of Vault Keeper. For any grievances, the customer can approach DigiGold at support@digigold.com

Which are the agencies which certify Gold in India?

The Government of India has identified the Bureau of Indian Standard as the sole agency in India to operate the BIS Hallmarking Scheme. The BIS Hallmarking Scheme has been aligned with International criteria. We only use BIS certified and Indian Good Standard for Gold and for which we have tied up and partnered with the renowned refinery of India GGC Gujarat Gold Centre Pvt Ltd which is accredited by BIS and NABL and is also impaneled with the National Stock Exchange of India.

What is the benchmark for the Price of DigiGold?

The benchmark price is the average Spot Gold price Pan India.

Can someone else redeem the physical gold coins on my behalf?

Only in case of death of the applicant, the legal heir will be able to collect the gold coins by paying any making charges notified in the application and or any other pendency and then with the outstanding clearance by the DigiGold along with proof of identity and with the original/notarized copy of the death certificate and proof that the person is the legal heir of the applicant.

Can you transfer Gold from your wallet to any other person’s wallet?

Yes, provided the other person has the same DigiGold Wallet on our platform and the receiver’s wallet should have an active DigiGold Wallet.

What is active DigiGold Wallet?

DigiGold Wallet only gets activated after the purchase of the minimum required Gold (Which could be as low as the equivalent to 1RS.

What if the customer dies during the tenure of the plan?

The legal heir of the customer can claim the customer’s account by following the process detailed above. Thereafter, they can access the customer’s account, including selling the gold balance or requesting for delivery of the gold.

How can one change their registered mobile number on DigiGold?

If you would like to change your registered mobile number on DigiGold, you will need to submit your KYC details on our customer care email id at support@digigold.com and we will update you.

What happens when payment is deducted through one’s credit card/debit card but the gold is not credited in one’s DigiGold balance?

It reflects instantly in your DigiGold Wallet, In case you are unable to view your Gold Credit then you will need to contact our customer care team at support@digigold.com and we will resolve your issue.
